The Witness Adam Jones Cover Ft. Cesar Gueikian - EPIC 16 Layers!

A Massive 16 Layers of
A Massive 16 Layers of Guitar, Piano, Drums, Bass and MIDI! "The Witness" Cover Ft. Cesar Gueikian (Gibson CEO). As a tribute to Adam Jones on his birthday and also to Cesar Gueikian as well as the Gibson family, I have been working on this very special project for the past month. This is by far the biggest project I have worked on and also my very first collaboration!
This song is just magical! There are so many layers and when listening to all of them, it is such an incredible experience. Adam Jones created such a beautiful piece here where most parts are in Synth. I wanted to re-create this completely using my Guitar. When I was working on putting together all the layers I felt it will be fantastic if Mr Gueikian could play the intro Piano for me. When I reached out to him, he was so kind and was happy to collab with me. I also wanted a drummer since that is the best part. I reached out to Cameron Winters and his friend Tim O'Nell did a fantastic job on drums in this song.
I recreated all parts by listening closely to the song and I did an extended version with some improvisation in some of my favourite sections. I also created my own solo following 2 different rhythmic melody from the song! I learnt a lot in this process of putting together 16 different layers of audios, mixing the song, compiling the entire videos, etc.
This has been so much fun and it is such an honor to collab with Gueikian and Tim (and ofcourse my baby brother Rudhra). You are going to see 13 Avatars of Maya in this video!
I also wanted to do a beautiful intro video where I envisioned a soul going to a forest where guitars appears from the ground and the soul merges together with this beautiful instrument!
I hope you all enjoy this cover (with no backtrack!) as much as I did creating this. Just the number of layers involved in this song made this a mega project and my dad helped me in putting together a million layers of videos, my mum went through my entire wardrobe and helped me dressing up 13 times to record all the layers and my 4 year old brother also made his first appearance on the cover by playing the beautiful intro MIDI note! All in all, this was a very fun project I did on my school holidays in Dec and a complete team work!
