I must have listened this song 100s of times during compilation of this video on young Madhubala at 16, it gave me immense pleasure. Nazim Panipati, in the song has portrayed the feelings of a girl who is in the threshold of her youth ( Madhubala at 16). He has nicely woven the song with verses like ‘mera nanha saa dil kamjor hai’, ‘ye (jiya) kamzaat hai’ and ‘mohe kose hai baali umariya’ to seek the sympathy. Here also the innocence of the girl is not pretentious as she is too shy to tell directly as to what is in her mind.
As no video is available on this song, I have compiled the video on the song the way I visualize it on very young Madhubala at 16.
The first half of the video is from the movie Apradhi (1949), and the second half is from the movie NIRALA (1950)
