IN THIS EXCURSION WE WALKED
IN THIS EXCURSION WE WALKED THE "TRAIL OF THE CABLEWAY": from Ruspesso (Ompe Ompio) you follow an easy path that in about 1.30 hours leads to the Corte Buè mountain pasture, the scene of a difficult alpine life (early 1900s) and subsequently of battles during the Second World War, until abandonment in the post-war period.
From Corte Buè begins the so-called "cableway path", a technical and demanding path that descends through 3 valleys where it is possible to see some concrete pylons that supported the large cableway for the transport of timber, which started from the heart of the Val Grande and through Colma di Vercio it reached Mergozzo, where the timber was sorted and resold throughout Italy.
The path in about 2.30 hours leads to Orfalecchio, where the departure station of the cableway was located and where a small "village" was built where workers' families lived.

● DAY 1: Ruspesso parking - Rif. Fantoli - Corte Buè - Orfalecchio: 5.00h with breaks
● DAY 2: backward path: 5.00h with breaks

● The whole path is signposted, but the Corte Buè - Orfalecchio segment is a bit more technical, with sections equipped with chains and steep descent into the woods
● Path exposed at times, to AVOID IN THE EVENT OF RAIN (even in the previous days), EXPECTED THUNDERSTORMS OR FOG
● Bivouacs along the route: Rifugio Fantoli (managed), Corte Buè, Orfalecchio
● Always pay attention to vipers, even if we haven't seen them
● Bring tweezers to remove any ticks
