Correctly stocking the right number of cows on a property is essential to have healthy rangelands and pastures for sustainable cattle production and good quail habitat. Knowing the amount of grass a cow needs every year is the last step to set an initial stocking rate. Determining grazeable acreage is the last step for a final stocking rate.
