Mariah Carey Speaks Out on Ariana Grande Comparisons
Ariana Grande do not watch this video or google yourself today. Looks like the legendary singer that inspired you to be a vocalist, Miss Mariah Carey, kind of threw you some shade at ya, baby girl. It all went down in an interview with radio station Power 105.1. Mariah spoke on a number of topics, such as her short-lived stint on American Idol, as well as the constant comparisons between her and the 20-year-old "Right There" singer. So, what did the diva have to say when she was asked about Ariana being the "young" Mariah? We'll let the clip speak for itself:
You all caught that right? She agreed with Jay-z about being offended at these comparisons. Ariana found it flattering. Mariah found it offensive. Coulda been worse. When she was asked about her former colleague at American idol, rapper Nicki Minaj, Mariah said "who" refusing to acknowledge Nicki's existence. Interesting.
