Fear of coming out stopped Melissa Etheridge from releasing early songs — now, she can be herself

Around the time Melissa Etheridge was recording her first albums in the '80s and '90s, some of the songs she wrote didn't make the cut. It wasn't because she didn't love them, but because there were parts of herself she wasn't ready to make public. Now, Etheridge has re-recorded those songs for her latest album, One Way Out. She joined Tom Power to talk about how revisiting her earlier material made her realize that having the courage to be yourself can change the world.
