"There is a gentle but insidious form of prejudice that runs through our society and, so, inevitably, through schools. It comes from the defeatist thinking of Plato, and it's almost certainly woven into your own mind and personality as it is in mine." It is the rule of three. This quote is from Saville Kushner who identifies, describes and examines the implications of the rule of three in his latest book entitled School: an exposé.

It is an important and insightful book about the "universal classroom," learning, and life.  It's a critique of education and a vision of what it could and should be. It's written first and foremost for parents and teachers, but relevant to anyone interested and involved in any aspect of education. More generally, understanding the rule of three and other deeply ingrained patterns of thinking is relevant to researchers, evaluators, policymakers, and changemakers in any domain.

This video offers an introduction to the book spotlighting the rule of three but grounded in other writings of Saville Kushner as well.
