Proteins loss in the urine also known as proteinuria is one of the common kidney diseases. These kidney diseases constitute the 3rd most common cause of kidney failure worldwide.
Proteins loss in the urine are diagnosed by doing urine complete test and 24 hours urine protein test.  
Nephrotic syndrome is protein loss in urine more than 3.5 grams that lead to decrease in blood protein level and symptoms due to low proteins in blood like body swellings and edema.  
There are many causes of nephrotic syndrome. Diabetes is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome worldwide. SLE and Amyloidosis are other systemic diseases that cause nephrotic syndrome.
Diseases limited to kidney can only be diagnosed after kidney biopsy is done for nephrotic syndrome. These diseases include Membranous nephropathy, MCD, FSGS,MPGN and IgA nephropathy.
Treatment of proteins un urine and nephrotic syndrome includes general treatment like AEC/ARB,s and treatment of cause of nephrotic syndrome.
