يتكاثر الصقر الأدهم (فالكوكونكولور) على
يتكاثر الصقر الأدهم (فالكوكونكولور) على الجزر والمنحدرات الساحلية المطلة على بحر عمان. وتشير الدراسات التي أجريت في أواخر العام 1970م، أن ما يقارب إلى 10٪ من تعداد هذه الطيور على الصعيد العالمي قد تكاثرت في سلطنة عمان. وتشير الدراسات الحديثة أن تعداد هذه الطيور في العالم قد انخفض بنسبة 15٪ منذ ذلك الحين. وقد بدأ مكتب حفظ البيئة بديوان البلاط السلطاني تنفيذ المشروع البحثي للمحافظة على الطائر المهاجر في العام 2007م، بالتعاون مع المنظمات المحلية والدولية المتخصصة.
في مراحل إنتاج هذا الفيلم رافقنا فريق البحث من مكتب حفظ البيئة خلال أنشطة البحث والتوثيق في سلطنة عمان وجمهورية مدغشقر. وبفضل التقنيات الحديثة المستخدمة في مراحل التصوير كان لنا السبق في التقاط مشاهد فريدة من نوعها في دورة حياة الصقر الأدهم، بدءا من سلوك التزاوج والتكاثر، ومراحل نمو الصقور اليافعة، وحتى رحلة الهجرة للصقور البالغة واليافعة عل حد سواء، رحلة طويلة عبر المناظر الطبيعية الخلابة من سلطنة عمان و حتى شرق أفريقيا، وصولا إلى الوجهة النهائية بجمهورية مدغشقر.

Diwan of Royal Court, Office for Conservation of the Environment, presents an INTEWO Inside Conservation Production. A movie by Robin Jähne & Sarah Herbort.
The Sooty Falcon (Falco concolor) breeds on the islands and costal cliffs overlooking the Sea of Oman. Studies conducted during the late 1970’s suggested that up to 10% of its global population bred in Oman. More recent studies indicate that the sooty Falcon’s global population may have suffered a 15% decline since then. In 2007 the Office for Conservation of the Environment (OCE), in collaboration with specialized local and international organizations, initiated a research project.
In this movie we accompany the scientists from OCE during their research and conservation activities in Oman and Madagascar. Latest recording technologies provide unique and so far unknown insights in the life cycle of this remarkable falcon, from the mating and breeding behavior, the growth of the falcon chicks to their maiden migration flight. A journey through breathtaking landscapes from Oman to East Africa, and further reaching the final destination, Madagascar.
