It is backed by a new high-revving V8 engine, featuring state-of-the-art M TwinPower Turbo technology. The 4.4 liter engine features a transverse exhaust manifold and an optimized oil separator.
The eight-cylinder engine is assisted in its task by an electric motor integrated in the eight-speed M transmission. The engine's propulsive power is immediately available during starts and responds without hesitation to every press of the accelerator. The M HYBRID propulsion system produces a maximum overall torque of 800 Nm (motor up to 650 Nm combined with an electric motor developing up to 280 Nm). A pre-reduction stage brings the effective maximum torque of the electric motor to 450 Nm at the input of the transmission.
The M Hybrid button on the center console allows you to select one of three driving modes, including ELECTRIC mode, which allows local emissions-free driving at speeds of up to 140 km/h and a maximum distance of 82 to 88 km according to the WLTP cycle. This is thanks to the high-voltage lithium-ion battery mounted in the underbody of the car and the 25.7 kWh of usable energy it provides.
