The language war is back.
The language war is back. On Sunday, DMK MP Kanimozhi alleged that a CISF personnel at Chennai airport questioned her nationality for not speaking Hindi.
The DMK MP tweeted, "Today at the airport a CISF officer asked me if \"I am an Indian\" when I asked her to speak to me in Tamil or English as I did not know Hindi. I would like to know from when being Indian is equal to knowing Hindi."
Although, the CISF has ordered an inquiry into the incident, but political war over the language began. Reacting to Kanimozhi's allegations, P Chidambaram tweeted he too had experienced similar taunts from government officers and ordinary citizens who insisted that he speak in Hindi.
While, senior BJP leader B L Santhosh said "campaign started" for Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
