The trouble is that salt water and pool water can be damaging to your beard. A simple rinse of fresh water once you're done will work wonders on washing away the salt and chlorine which can severely dry out your beard and skin. Keep in mind that proper sun protection is always a good idea. If you beard isn't providing full coverage on your face you should use sunscreen to avoid a burn. A sunburn under a beard can be highly irritating and painful. The general rule is: if you can see skin you should have sunscreen on it.
