2015 Mercedes GLA250 4Matic - Off Road And Track Review

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 4Matic. This is a premium CUV from Mercedes, featuring a 2.0L Turbo I4 producing 208 HP, which I’ll be comparing to the Buick Encore, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Lexus NX, and Volvo V60 Cross Country. Starting with the drawbacks, rear leg room is a bit limited, off-road handling was very stiff, and there were some quirks with the interior I wasn’t a fan of. That said, it was my personal favorite car of the group it competed in. It’s almost as light as the Buick Encore, creates peak torque at a staggeringly low 1250 RPM, and it has the best fuel economy of the group with 32 mpg highway. On top of this, it has 8 inches of ground clearance and it’s the only vehicle in the entire event with a dual clutch transmission. The handling was phenomenal in comparison to the others tested.

This vehicle was tested as part of the 2015 Northwest Automotive Press Association’s Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year competition. The vehicle category and competing vehicles are below:
