This is my second time
This is my second time experience this ad hoc, unorganized popular culture event in Hong Kong. I must admit the first time (2023) I didn't understand the objective of this event.
However, after a year of living in Hong Kong. I believe Hong Kong is somewhat a depressing city to live in some aspects.
Hong Kongers set aside a day which is 30th April to celebrate the birthday of this cultural icon in Hong Kong. This time around I thoroughly enjoy this amazing event organized by the general public with no major sponsor but from the help of volunteers.
It's the only time of the year where I finally see happiness of Hong Kongers not only from materialistic fulfillment but from the sheer joy of congregating to celebrate someone birthday.
