Some car trimmers use a 'Serger Sewing Machine' to 'overcast the edges' of cut trim carpets before installing them on a vehicle floor.
This machine is a 'medium duty' 'overlock' sewing machine. If we would work with heavier materials I would recommend a 'heavy duty carpet serger'.
At the beginning of the video we can see how the 'carpet material' is dragged backwards while the 'big pulley' on my right, moves clockwise. On regular sewing machines the 'big pulley' moves counter-clockwise.
