Grave of Angelica Schuyler Church,
Grave of Angelica Schuyler Church, sister-in-law of Alexander Hamilton, sister of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, in Trinity Church Graveyard, New York City.
This is the vault of Robert R. Livingston of NY, who attended the Continental Congress, swore in George Washington as President and negotiated the Louisiana Purchase while in France. In France he met Robert Fulton who was working on plans for a steamship. When they returned to NY they built the first steamship and called it "Claremont" in honor of the Livingston estate.
How Angelica came to be buried here is unknown, but the Schuyler and Livingston families were related, and were political allies.
