Shade One Awnings uses a simple pulley system to raise and lower this retractable awning side panel. The front bar connection is within reach and is easily hooked on. The part of the panel that is connected to the house is up much higher and is usually out of reach at 9 feet or higher. This system consists of a small pulley, a cleat, a carabiner spring clip and a length of rope. The process is very similar to raising and lowering a flag.
