Learn how to clean your dryer vent yourself from the outside using a drill and a dryer vent cleaning kit. Easy DIY you can do today. All you need is an electric drill, a dryer cleaning kit with a dryer cleaning brush, some electrical tape, channel locks, and a ladder.
Cleaning your dryer ductwork this way from the outside means you can clean the long duct lines without having to move your dryer. You can, however, run the cleaning kit from the inside too so you ensure a great clean.
How often you should clean your dryer vent line depends on how often you use your dryer. If you do the average amount of laundry, then it is recommended to clean it once per year.
