Most of the gauge kit you can buy are similar in functions, many are just re-branded with generic names, but the one we choose to purchase has the highest positive reviews on Amazon, relatively cheap and inexpensive compared to local auto parts & hardware stores such as Advanced Auto Parts, Autozone, O'Reilly, Lowes, Home Depot or Harbor Freight Tools.
Originally we were going to do unboxing, assembly instructions, first impression and initial reviews but we decided to to open and made sure the kit worked by hooking it up to our cars AC system low and high port and tested the unit. We connected the gauges to 4 different cars (Honda Accord, Hyundai Santa Fe, Civc & Acura MDX) in an attempt to show you the different pressure readings - on a non working car, on a car that is idle and on a car while the engine is running. Basically how AC gauges work for beginners or HVAC-R for dummies. We would've done "everything you need to know" but we are not experts in this field.
So What is a manifold set? Manifold gauge sets, sometimes called HVAC gauges or refrigeration gauges, diagnose and repair refrigerators or cooling systems. They measure both low- and high-refrigerant pressure with either digital or mechanical gauges to troubleshoot issues such as leaks or to help when evacuating and recharging a system.
A manifold gauge set will also let you determine if your system is fully charged or not, or if your system is losing pressure at a rate that indicates there is a large leak. Even if you won't be servicing the system yourself, it will help you determine whether you need repairs or just a recharge.

A manifold gauge set will have red, blue, and yellow hoses.
The blue is for low-pressures and the red is or high-pressures.
The yellow hose can go to either low side or high side depending on which valve is open.
What should my A C pressures be? What are normal operating pressures for 134a? An A/C System that is working properly should have 150 PSI on the high side and 30 PSI on the low side. What should AC pressure be with engine off? Pressure will equalize. High side should read the same number. Should be between 90-110 psi.
