In this episode, I presented my list of the top 10 best spice perfumes: scents that showcase all the most enticing attributes of cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, cloves and other spices.

Here's the blotter update...

As I've said before, it's difficult providing a blotter update on scents that we already know are wonderful. However, for the purposes of this video, I thought it would be interesting to consider which of these perfumes remain 'spicy' in their drydown. So, working our way up from least spicy, we start with the Aesop, which quickly settles into a base of moonlit woods. Then comes Epice Marine, which very much homes in on the second part of its name. Next up is Trayee with its introspective, tranquil base of sandalwood. Maintaining a delicious, faint whisper of cinnamon is CdG White. In the next spot I'd place the Lutens, which emphasises syrupy fruit and woods in its final stages. Cardmusc maintains its superbly convincing cardamom note for hours. And displaying very similar levels of spiciness (albeit in their own ways) are the final four: Tom Of Finland with its dangerous, dry, leathery saffron; Blackpepper, with that ingenious, never-ending pepper grinder; the grand opulence of Cinnabar; and the sweet-peppery-pungent suaveness of Noir Epices.
