In this IGCSE versus ICSE video, Wolsey Hall Oxford parent Shipra explains the main differences in the two educational pathways. Shipra has two sons who are homeschooling with Wolsey Hall in India. Currently at lower secondary level.

The main difference is the flexibility in subject choices. The IGCSE curriculum studied by students of age 14-16 allows students to pick the subjects they enjoy and are strong in. Aside from English and Maths, which is required by many Universities, there is no requirement to take any specific subjects.

The IGCSE and A levels (studied by students aged 16-18) are also accepted by Universities worldwide. Students should be careful to ensure their choice of IGCSE and A levels allows them to continue on to further education in their chose field.
