Mitrabha Guha has become India's
Mitrabha Guha has become India's latest GM (72nd) on 9th of November 2021 at the age of 20 years. Mitrabha achieved his final GM norm at the Novi Sad GM mix tournament in Serbia.
The most unique thing about this boy from Kolkata, West Bengal is that he has improved on his chess without a trainer since 2018. He has done it all on his own. So, what is the secret sauce? What is the secret ingredient? Well, Mitrabha puts it very simply - "I played bullet and blitz throughout the lockdown. I enjoy playing it and it has helped me improve!"
Mitrabha's style of play is positional with a keen sense for tactics. In this interview we see how he manages to weave these two aspects of his game together as Mitrabha shows us one of his favourite games of his career - his win against GM Mistradin Iskandarov (2522).
