Pathogen Replication inside Macrophages

Biology Professor (Twitter: @DrWhitneyHolden) describes the adaptations that allow some pathogens to replicate INSIDE macrophages and still cause disease, despite their engulfment by cells that are supposed to destroy them.  The video also includes a brief review of the steps of phagocytosis and gives examples of pathogens that use this strategy to cause disease.  Reasons for why these pathogens may have evolved this strategy of replication are also discussed.  Great for MCAT Biology Review!
