A complete(well, almost😅) growing guide of Vanda Orchid
Hey everyone! In this video, I'm going to talk about Vanda Orchid. Vanda Orchids are a little bit needy when comes to growing them.
1. Since they are epiphytes and can't be grown in a container, you have to water them every day, and on dry summer days, twice a day is required.
2. Vanda loves direct sun, at least my experience says so. A minimum of four to five hours of direct morning sun is required. Also indirect bright light throughout the day is required in order to enjoy their maximum potential. Though on dry hot summer afternoons, they need protection from the scorching sun. A 40% or 50% shade net will do this job.
3. Vanda orchids need sufficient moisture around their roots since they can't hold moisture for a long time. So apart from their dormancy stage, you'll need to water every day.
4. Cut down watering in winter months. Do not water more than thrice a week and also, avoid watering the crown which can lead to crown rot.
5. Fertilize your Vanda orchids once a week. Any type of NPK and liquid-release fertilizer will do the job.
6. Use fungicides every fifteen days during monsoon season since they can be infected by the same during this time.
