Replace with new head and follow the same cross-pattern to secure it to the drum. For the bottom head of Pearl Marching Snare Drums, remove the gut system (snare strainer) from the bottom of the drum. Remove bottom head in the same fashion as the top head. Replace with new head and follow similar procedure as top head ensuring it is placed evenly on the drum to avoid warping. Reinstall gut system by lining it up with the bearing side, then reinstall tension rods and bring up to pitch.
