Chad and Nigel On The Road to Rhode Island (AMV/CMV/PMV)

Twentieth Century Nicoville is back with another AMV after a three month long hiatus, this time a duo piece synonymous with both Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, and Stewie and Brian Griffin. The “Road to” series of films that starred Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour gave Americans the comedy they need during wartime. The movies were a combination of adventure, comedy, romance, and music. The minimal plot often took a back seat to gags, which appeared improvised but were usually scripted. It was comedy gold that often but Bob Hope and Bing Crosby together for several decades later on. One of these films, “Road to Morocco” featured a song composed by Jimmy Van Heusen with lyrics by Johnny Burke. The movies may be forgotten to a younger generation, but besides the basis for the Dreamworks film, Road to El Dorado, the song was reutilized by Seth Macfarlane for his television sitcom, Family Guy, in a series of episodes that starred Stewie and Brian Griffin, their own “Road to” Series. What better way to kick start the series than an homage to the plucky duo.

This time round, Nigel “Numbuh 1” Uno and Chad “Numbuh 274” Dickson of Mr. Warburton’s “Codename: Kids Next Door” take a turn singing about their travels around the country (Presumably after Operation T.R.E.A.T.Y. (GKND Has not happened yet)). In this comedic little video, Chad and Nigel sing “Road to Rhode Island” as those glorious sons of guns of before have done previously.
