Grad Stories | Andrew Morrissey

Family ties, the right degree path and a passion to pursue basketball led Andrew Morrissey MAcc ’23 to St. Ambrose.

The 6 feet 9 inches tall graduate student wasted no time immersing himself in the SAU community, embracing the basketball and the Master of Accounting programs. His achievements in both have earned him widespread recognition as a high performer.

“Once you step into a program nothing is guaranteed, so I knew from day one I’d have to earn it,” Morrissey said.

Soon, Morrissey will proudly cross the stage to receive his degree, embarking on a new chapter of his life as a CPA for Deloitte.

While basketball has played an integral role in his journey, Morrissey recognizes that life beyond the court holds exciting uncertainties.

“Basketball is always going to be there for me. This new journey is sometimes uncertain, but I’m excited to see what life outside of basketball will be.”
