How to use a Walking Foot for Quilting on the Sewing Machine. How to install the walking foot and why we use it. If you are like me, you heard talk of this mythical item known as the walking foot and regarded it with fear and trepidation. Well, brush those concerns aside as I show you exactly how this thing works, why we use it and how to install it. My sewing machine is a Singer Patchwork, but lots of sewing machines have a similar style of installation for presser feet.
