Remember when superhero action figures and fighting army figures like G.I. Joe were made to be played with and not collected? Relive the glory days of pure, unadulterated fun!

If you played with it in the 70s, most likely it's in this collection of retro television commercials from the 60's and 70's. Featuring classic retro and vintage commercials for GI Joe, Captain Action, Big Jim, Bionic Man, Action Jackson, Star Wars, Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and other popular DC and Marvel superheroes from Mego, Kiss dolls, and many, many more!

I can officially attest to having almost every action figure in this TV commercial compilation with the exception of a lot of the Star Wars toys - I only have Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader (still have him) and Han Solo.

I literally just threw out my Steve Austin Bionic Man yesterday (Sept 5, 2015) due to water damage in my garage but I still have many toys and action figures left over from my childhood. Hasbro GI Joe with kung fu grip, eagle eye Joe and a ton of action gear from many play-sets. My favorite Christmas gift memory was receiving an Aquaman 8" Mego action figure from my aunt and uncle - I didn't even like Aquaman that much, but with Batman, Robin and Superman already in my possession, I guess I needed Aquaman to round out the Super Friend's roster. Wonder Woman wouldn't be released until awhile later.

Throughout the 70s I amassed quite a collection of Mego Action Figures. Batman, Robin, Superman, Aquaman, Shazam, Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Hulk, Green Goblin, The Riddler, The Penguin, The Joker, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Tarzan, Falcon, Thor, Green Arrow, The Thing, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Catwoman and the Lizard. While most of them fell apart over the years, I stupidly threw out their bodies, but kept their costumes, accessories and heads - which was the first of anything I ever sold on eBay in around 2004. For just the Mego heads, superhero costumes and accessories I took in close to $300. I was pretty happy about that sale.

The 70s were also a great time for GI Joe, Bullet Man, Steve Austin The Bionic Man, The Lone Ranger, Tonto and Butch Cavendish,

It's certainly odd to see DC and Marvel superheroes advertised together in the same commercial, but if you look at the old Mego boxes from the 1970s, you'll find Captain America among Batman, Robin, Superman, Aquaman and Shazam.

Later in the early 80s my parents bought me Mego Kiss action figures of Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, Peter Criss and Paul Stanley - and you'll see the commercial in this compilation. I still have those wild musical rock n roll Kiss figures in my collection.

Enjoy!
