Up until now, we have been primarily focused on the tip of the gouge.  See why that is, and see how, when, and why we can use the rest of the cutting edge and even cut with the wing!

This video brings us to the end of the series on cutting, since at this point we have thoroughly covered my two pet principles: cutting angle and fulcrum.  This is more of a beginning than and end, however, since cutting angle and fulcrum are relevant to all tools, even scrapers.

Cover tool:  Ashley Iles 3/8" shallow gouge with "detail" grind

Woods:
face work: Honduran Mahogany
side grain/spindle work: rubber tree
end grain/spindle work: mystery wood (possibly soft Maple)
