Formula One in the early years was an extremely dangerous sport, like any other racing back in the days. In the mid to late 20th century, it was the golden age.

The 60s was not only the golden years of F1, but it was also the killer years with 29 drivers killed compared to 18 in the 70s. Anyone continuously racing had a 60% chance of dying.

I think most people (regardless of age) will agree the Formula 1 cars of the 60s, 70s and 80s had soul and personality that today’s machines just don’t have. So, are modern Formula 1 cars cool? Well, they might be cool in terms of their cutting-edge technology and exotic materials, but how many people look at a current F1 car and dream about it? Not many.

You cannot manufacture a soul.
