How far will 70Ah get you? Night Ride Vol 1. I'm trying something new with this video, I'd like to start a series that is a bit more casual from time to time with just going out and riding at night. I don't know how well this will be received, at all, but if it's not bad then I will make more. It was extremely nice to be able to blast around the city, to me there's nothing else like it. This is "the future". If you put on some amazing music, just riding into the darkness without a goal or aim other than to feel the ride. I was lucky to have found a night where everything was quiet, usually my city is full of activity and lots of people but this was incredible to find myself nearly alone the whole ride. I go over some things with the channel, talk about this particular build, classes of ebikes, bike regulations and freedom. Ebikes are in the wild west right now, but I believe heavy regulation is coming. With rising fuel prices, higher costs of cars, insurance everything plus a huge push to "go green" I believe this is just the beginning of the ebike revolution. For city transport and now even greater distances less and less people are going to be wanting to drive their cars if there are much less expensive alternatives. Because of this cities and municipalities are going to be losing a huge amount of tax revenue so they will be looking for this from the alternative and I see that in just further restrictions, licensing, insurance, etc. It's already this way for a lot of european countries and I fear it will eventually come here, sooner rather than later. This is why it's the best time to get an ebike and enjoy the boundless freedom while it's still here. I find a parallel to the internet in the early 2000's before all of the corporatization and commodification of information that we're seeing now. The Frame This is an older frame from China that was very cheap - it's burly, heavy and should hold up to the power that I'm putting through it. The swingarm on this one is super beefy compared to the EEB version, but the trade off is that it is a lot heavier. 2. The Battery Custom made GTK pack, 70Ah, 72V, 200A BMS. It has two 150A Anderson plugs with 2 8G wires per pole! 3. The Controller Not shown yet, but it's a Sabvoton SVMC72200 200A controller, it's fully programmable with regen braking. 4. The Motor It's a QS273 V3 - T3.5 motor from QS.
