Tropical Storm Beryl developed fast
Tropical Storm Beryl developed fast today. It went from a tropical disturbance to a tropical depression to a strong tropical storm that is moving westward toward the Caribbean. In the next two days, it will likely get stronger as it approaches the Caribbean, and may reach hurricane status. Over the weekend, it will likely weaken and may be no more than a tropical wave by early next week. It's no threat to any land at this point. Late in the weekend it may directly impact Islands like Barbados, St. Lucia and Martinique in the Caribbean. Don't be confused by plots of various models that show tracks taking it toward the Gulf. Those plots are only for tracking the center of the low pressure. They don't mean it will still be a named storm. You can see the forecast track on your free WKRG News 5 weather app.
