How does the new M2
How does the new M2 Max Macbook Pro do in ZBrush and Blender? Can you use it for professional 3D work? How does it compare to the M1 Max? Is it worth the upgrade? Why would you choose a Mac over a PC for 3D work?
There are many benchmarking videos out there now on the M1 and M2 Max chips. However, while benchmarks are helpful, they don't give you the full picture of what using these chips for professional-level work will be like.
In this video, we take a look at the real-world performance of the M1 Max in the Mac Studio and the M2 Max in the 16-inch Macbook Pro in both ZBrush and Blender 3D to see if they can be used for professional work. We compare how the M1 Max and M2 Max perform in sculpting high-poly characters with multiple SubTools, how long they take to decimate a model for preparing STL files for 3D print and rendering stills for showing your models in Blender 3D using the cycles GPU renderer.
