Shifen Old Street, Taiwan 🇹🇼 - Sky Lanterns and Is It a Place Worth Visiting?? | Taiwan Travel

I was excited to travel to the traditional old street in Shifen during my visit in Taiwan but was left discouraged after I saw how much litter these lanterns were leaving behind. This is only my personal take on an old tradition that draws thousands of people daily but I am hoping it brings more awareness to the consequences of sending giant lanterns into the sky.

I really love Taiwan but this visit put a bad taste in my mouth and I hope there may be alternatives put in place where people can still celebrate and unite for a better future.
