In this video, I want to discuss the only job you have as a photographer, and that is to have artistic integrity and remain authentic despite the desire to create "perfect" images. We talk about some of the moral dilemmas associated with the influx of A.I. powered tools that are available to us as digital creators, and I share some of my opinions on editing and adjusting your images. Along the way, as I photograph the beautiful snowy conditions, I also test out my new Kase Filter System! ‪@KaseFiltersGlobal‬

Does it feel like A.I. is taking over the arts recently? As more and more photographers are accepting functions like "generative fill" in Photoshop, more and more photos are looking a little suspiciously "perfect." Imperfections are a part of life, and if you pursue any lifestyle photography (landscape, street, journalistic, etc.) you have a responsibility to use those imperfections to create great images nonetheless.

I would like to reiterate my current stance on editing/adjusting/generating photographs. I take a more conservative approach to my photos - color balancing, manipulating the light that is already present, cropping to a different aspect ratio, and even occasionally cloning out little distracting elements (a piece of litter in the frame, a stray piece of dust on my sensor, etc.) are about as far as I take it. I avoid at all costs any major change in color, conditions, or elements. If there is a subject or an object that is ultimately present in the frame, it will likely remain in the final edit. I am not there to turn a photographed scene into a flawless version. I am there to document the moment, and work with what I see. I have no interest in "perfect" photos as they are far too often overly manipulated or completely ai generated.
