Who are intend to use this video-
NDT personnel, Inspection personnel, industrial maintenance professional, managers, supervisors, academician and who ever is interested to learn the SFD.
Radiography is one of the most hazardous activity in NDT arena. More exposure means more danger to the human being all around. Exposure time is inversely proportional to the square of the distance. That means if you move source from one meter to 3 meter, the exposure required to bring the same density in the film, will need the exposure time around 9 times. This means radiation is all around for more time. Keeping safety in mind, if someone tries to minimise the distance between the source and object, quality of the film may get detonated. To make the required quality what do you need to do - Have proper SFD.
In my recent interviews with hundreds of technician, it was found the SFD is generally not considered a great factor. In order to make more awareness, this video is designed.
