Welcome to a quick 7-minute lesson on how to perform and practice the 24 Posture Yang Style Tai Chi (Taiji) Chuan Set form (to the left) in a small space - specifically a 6ft. x 6 ft. (2m x 2m) space. This lesson will break down the principles that I use to adapt my Tai Chi so I can practice almost ANYWHERE.  Then I'll talk you through how I use each of these principles as I perform the 24 Set to the Left on a 6x6 ft. space on the side of a mountain in upstate New York.  Thank you, Brady and Jess, for allowing me to film on your property! And, special thanks to Jess who helped Piper and I film this video.  You are awesome! Some might refer to this confined Tai Chi form as "Jailhouse Tai Chi", but I like to call it "Small Space Tai Chi". I hope this helps you adapt your Tai Chi so YOU can practice your Tai Chi anywhere!

Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient system of martial art and exercise that helps prevent and cure disease by loosening the joints and spine and relax points of tension in the body.  Internal martial arts strengthen the digestive, circulatory, muscular, and skeletal systems.  Tai Chi Chuan is often described as a moving meditation because the slow, turning motions relieve stress, improve concentration, and create a sense of calm.  The complexity and challenge of physical training help keep the mind and body sharp.

Vince Jornales is a certified instructor of Bagua Zhang, Filipino Martial Arts, Qi Gong (qigong) and Tai Chi Chuan.  He has been a student of martial arts for over 20 years.  He has over 10 years of experience as the Main Instructor of the East Coast Jornales System at Bishop's Training & Fitness in West Bridgewater.  He teaches Tai Chi classes to seniors at the Councils on Aging in Easton, Canton, Stoughton, Middleborough, Milton, and Quincy.  He teaches Tai Chi in chairs at the Height's Crossing Memory Facility in Brockton and the Compass Memory Care at Cornerstone in Canton.  He teaches Martial Arts to adults with disabilities at the JC&FS in Canton.

DISCLAMER:  As with any physical exercise, in-person instruction is always recommended.  Please consult your physician and make sure you are in condition to follow along with this video.
