Lettuce has a short growing season, from 30 to 60 days, so it can be sown several times during the year. However, it does best when spring or autumn temperatures are pleasant. Lettuce does not like high temperatures, so summer is not an option for growing outdoors. For sowing, we can choose two types of lettuce, curly-leaf crystal lettuce or butter lettuce with a smooth rim and a slightly more delicate structure. My favorite variety is Great Lakes and I grow it the most. It has an outstanding taste and crispy leaves.
