American former professional boxer Larry Holmes is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. His incredible boxing career saw him have a record of 69 wins and 6 losses.  Nicknamed the Easton Assassin his left jab was most feared and rated as among the best in heavyweight boxing history. He was the world heavyweight champion from 1978 until 1985. Larry Holmes faced some of the biggest names in the boxing arena.  He won his 48 professional bouts against Ken Norton, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Earnie Shavers, Mike Weaver, Gerry Cooney, Tim Witherspoon, Carl Williams, and Marvis Frazier. He retired in 1985 after been defeated by Michael Spinks. The Easton Assassin is the only boxer to have defeated Muhammad Ali by stoppage and the last living boxer to have defeated Ali. He unsuccessful had 4 further comeback attempts against Mike Tyson in 1988, Evander Holyfield in 1992, Oliver McCall in 1995 and Brian Nielsen in 1997. Larry Holmes hanged his gloves in 1997.  He ended his career with a record of 69 wins and 6 losses.  Currently Larry Holmes works as a co-host for the TV talk show called "What the Heck Were They Thinking? He has also invested in various business ventures with his earnings from his boxing career. He has hired more than 200 workers through these Businesses, which have included a $5 million office complex, $2 million restaurant, $8 million hotel, a nightclub and slot machines.
