British Raj

The British Raj refers to the period of British colonial rule in the Indian subcontinent from 1858 to 1947. Under British rule, India experienced significant political, economic, and social transformations, including the implementation of railways, telegraphs, and administrative reforms, as well as the growth of nationalist movements and calls for independence.
