STORYLINE:
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met with leaders from the five Central Asian states on Friday in Berlin.
According to the German government, the five leaders are meeting for the first time in a joint format with an EU member state for an exchange.
The joint working lunch will focus on strengthening regional and economic cooperation as well as issues of importance to the region and to Germany.
