Pat Neely rose to national prominence with his then-wife Gina following the 2008 premiere of "Down Home with the Neelys" on Food Network. But he had been part of the Memphis food scene for years before that. He was just 23 when he opened Neely's Bar-B-Que, and the restaurant earned the distinction of being "Best BBQ in Memphis" in 1997.
