How to import Survey data from a spreadsheet to Autocad
You have survey data in a spreadsheet in Northing, Easting, and Elevation, format and would like to generate points in AutoCAD from the spreadsheet.
Watch this video to see easy steps to do that.
In this video, I have demonstrated how to:
Open the spreadsheet in Excel (or any spreadsheet tool).

Highlight the cells containing the coordinates (skip the headers) from the top of the spreadsheet to the bottom.

Right click on the cells and select Copy.

Open a text editor such as Notepad (it needs to be an ascii editor, not a word processor).

Paste the values from the spreadsheet into the text document.

Highlight the space between two columns. The tabulation character will be selected.

Right click and select Copy.

Use the Replace tool (in Notepad: Edit menu  Replace) and paste in the spaces for the Find what column.

Type a comma in the Replace with column and select Replace All.

In a new line at the top of the text document, enter _MULTIPLE _POINT.

Save the text document with a SCR file extension and close it.

In AutoCAD, enter UNITS.

Set the Units to scale inserted content to Feet or Meters. This depends on how the units were measured in the field.

Set the Angle Type to Surveyor's Units.

Enter SCRIPT at the command line and select the script file created earlier. The points will be generated.

Note: You may need to press the Enter key to get out of the Point command.
