M/S of several African men in long black robes kissing the hand of a clergyman (looks like a Cardinal?). M/S of a horse-drawn carriage coming up a driveway. Several shots show the African men greeting Pope Pius XI (Achille Ratti); one reads a speech to him while the others stand listening; the Pope sits in a chair and listens. The reader genuflects to the Pope during his speech. The Pope speaks to some of the men; one kneels down and kisses his hand.
