Badi Panthulu is a 1972 Telugu Drama film directed by P. Chandrasekhara Reddy and starring N. T. Rama Rao and Anjali Devi. This is the first film of popular Indian actress Sridevi, who played the role of NTR's granddaughter. Sridevi would later go on to star as the lead heroine alongside NTR in his later films. This movie is a remake of 1958 hit Kannada movie School Master.PlotRaghava Rao is a teacher in a government primary school. His wife is Janaki . Papa Rao is the school proprietor. The teacher lives with commitment to basic values of life. He has two sons Satyam and Venu and a daughter . The school children built a house for their teacher with love and affection. After retirement,Raghava Rao has no choice but to live with his children.His ungrateful children sell the house of Raghava Rao and Janaki against their wishes. They separate their father and mother and take care of them by rotation even though the old couple want to live together. Ramu is an old student of Raghava Rao who becomes a police officer.
