Brazilian or Argentinean side of Iguazu Falls? How to get there? What to do? Is it worth it? Absolutely! Iguazu Falls has become one of our favorite destinations after traveling full time for over six months!
We began on the Brazilian side, in Foz de Iguacu, where you can experience the falls from above, below, and up close. Our air-conditioned Uber ride to this side, despite the 100F heat, was worth every penny! We share our experiences with ticketing, the entrance queues, the scenic walks along the falls, and the thrill of getting soaked by the cascades. We also highlight the often overlooked Iguazu Falls museum, which is a treasure trove of historical photos and information about the Falls.
On the Argentinean side, in Puerto Iguazu, we spent about four hours marveling at the waterfalls from above. We took the city bus to the Falls and have tips on purchasing your admission ticket, and how to navigate the metal walkways. We also share our favorite views from the lower trail and a museum dedicated to jaguars and leopards.
For those seeking a less crowded path, we take you along the Macuco trail, a secluded hike that leads to a picturesque waterfall. Here, we found ourselves surrounded by nature's sounds and sights, from loud cicadas and vibrant butterflies to large ants.
