Abducting politicians, smuggling sandalwood, and poaching elephants. He had evaded arrest for nearly 20 years. Many feared the name Veerappan, a notorious bandit. Veerappan was born into a poor family of cattle grazers. He was only 10 years old when he first killed an elephant. He later went on to be involved in poaching tuskers. He committed his first murder when he was 17 years old. Following this, he murdered and abducted several people. Including police and forest officials.
