A Transperth cab view filmed
A Transperth cab view filmed from a B series railcar from Perth to Midland then return to Perth.
This video was filmed at the height of the Covid19 lockdown in Perth. The lack of passengers is apparent at Midland, when only 4-5 people are filmed leaving the train when it would normally be closer to 60 to 70. At McIver (1:35) and Claisebrook (3:03) there is only a few passengers. These platforms would normally be crowded with commuters heading home. More evidence of the effects of the lockdown can be observed, such as a lack of traffic. At 5:31, the road next to the railway line on the right hand side of frame, East Parade, would normally be a carpark in peak hour. During the lockdown, there is virtually no traffic.
The lack of people catching peak hour public transport is also very apparent at the end of the video, when the train returns to Perth. Keep in mind that the video was filmed between 4:30pm & 6:00pm when there should be at least a hundred people waiting for the train on its return. I counted five.
