Just how warm do those
Just how warm do those mylar emergency blankets keep you? Most hikers keep one in their packs, but how many of us have actually had to use them? Just how effective are they? What are their limitations? Can they prevent hypothermia? Can they really help you survive?
In this video, I set out with several jars of Jello to attempt to answer those questions.
Handout Gloves: Notice the gloves? They are a new take on the old knitted mitts that could flip over. The tops are attached with a waterproof zipper along the back of the hands. It's super easy and fast to unzip and fiddle with a camera or a ski pole without having to take off the mitt (and losing it or getting it full of snow or wasting time).
